definately^
It would be nice to be able to change the beats in tempo detect like the good ol mpc2000xl.
and I forgot to add Similt function. very important

won't this screw with the CPU priority and cause timing slop?

Akai girl ?
BPM dectect like the XL does so when you change the pitch the BPM is changed real time too that is priceless.
Just for some fun tetris would be cool

could you go into this in greater detail? what mode are you in to find this in the 2000xl? i'm curious because the jj looks to be reworking the 1000 and 2500's tempo detect (which kinda sucks) using the 2000's method of detection rather than its current method (which i think tries to do it based on transients - i THINK).

a quickload function for live performing: i.e. you press mode and pad 11 and it loads a pre defined song.
AND
the ability to load songs with their sequences WITHOUT whiping out the existing songs and sequences in memory.
And a loop on/off key if it fits onthe screen

Once your in the trim mode press <params>
and it should look like this
Level :100 | Beat beat: 4
| Loop Sample tempo 120.0
| Funtion New tempo 120.0
Tune: 0 |
So when to increase/decrease the "tune" it will recalculate it and spit it out and display it in the "New tempo" section. I cannot understand why the new MPC's never got this fuction.

first post is updated.
2 things i did not add:
-normalize to other rates than 0db because thats what you have the mixer
and the volumes in program for
EDIT: i thought about it again and i think it's a useful option for people doing all their sampling and chopping on the mpc. 0db hihats on the headphones can't be good for your ears...
-function to have several .all files in the mpc at once because that questions
the whole structure of every mpc and would be a pain to program. i'd still
love to see this though. you could have a screen to choose different projects
where a project would have the information of which .all and which .pgms to
use. great idea, but i doubt this is gonna happen.

.. shame - several songs in memory would make it a much better choise as a life performers machine - relading live is always a stress factor and an interruption

this is done, w/ a couple of options. there's even a vocal cut or w/e with the inversion trick, but i don't use it
mode/pad11 is a global param control. for live performance, i suggest just making a bunch of different programs still.
yepz - that sounds great. i'll do my best to pass it on.
there has been a certain pattern to the development of the new features in this os. they haven't been along the lines of "bit crusher" or "elastic audio realtime time stretch." they've been featuers to better the existing ones already here. take a look at the biglobe page to see what i'm saying, and then look at the future stuff. it's also been soemthign to add the old and good features of previous machines into the new ones since akai's been slow on the uptake.
with that in mind, try to refine your suggestions. Normalizing to different levels than 0 is plausible, but unlikely. more and different effects is also unlikely (although they did put delay in both fx slots).
