I agree, but in this case the defective MPC would likely be returned to Akai by the dealer and refurbed so he'd essentially be doing the warranty repair himself. Besides, have you seen his myspace? He's clearly a gangsta.
my myspace?
lol wtf is that supposed to mean?
and T7.. THIS TIME.. u nailed it..
jamon.. what IM doing is immoral???
but Akai selling MPCs for top dollar with bottom dollar parts is not???
i have a DEFECTIVE PART in my 5 month old mpc. so fuk the immoral sh!t. (correction TWO def parts. i forgot the screen has a line out as well)
Immoral is having to come further out of pocket to PAY to ship it to them to fix some sh!t that shouldn't be broken in the first place. its a KNOWN ISSUE. akai KNOWS about and does NOTHING. oh wait I take that back..
they probably couldnt find a CHEAP work around solution to building DEFECTIVE MPCs so they just said Fuk it and discontinued it.. So you can take all that moral high ground sh!t to church.
besides, why u think i was looking for a FLOOR MODEL, with ISSUES?!?!? it gonna get RTV'd to AKAI anyway.
Not put in a box for some innocent person to by. LIKE I DID. and you said I need to "OWN up to it" as if I BROKE IT.
I bought it like that. AKAI needs to OWN UP TO IT. and this is how I make them do that, MY WAY.
and again T7 hit the nail on the head.. when i first called Akai with this issue, the first thing I asked is if I could have the parts sent to me under warranty. I can do the repairs myself. I knew they would say no, but it was worth asking. You never know who u might get on the phone. Either way.. even if pissing away 50 to 100 bucks on shipping was something i didnt care about, Akai's repair turn around is fukin 2 weeks (PLUS shipping). 2 weeks to do something that takes me 20 minutes if i had the part.
so at the end of the day, two wrongs dont make a right.. but If Akai can sell MPCS with defective cpu boards in em, then I can buy one of them(hopefully a non defective one) and stuff my defective cpuboard in it, and send it right back to akai like..
"yo...you forgot this"
EDIT. Im a laid back, honest, hard working guy that pays my taxes and treats others how I wanna be treated.
but this pissed me off. shoplifting is immoral, rape and murder is immoral.. this is a fair move in a game being dictated by the companies that have control over what they market and sell to us, not playing fair.
It would be one thing if Akai didn't completely STOP paying authorized dealers in the US to do warranty repairs, so i could take it some place LOCAL like i had done in the past with my 2000 classic way back in 1998.
But to sell mpcs with low quality and defective parts, and also no longer allow authorized repair centers to do warranty work? You tell me whats more immoral?
