I feel your pain went through the same.
Just happen to mention to someone who to me was a typical person the prob's I had gone through with Sweetwater and how I wouldn't do business with them.
A couple of hours later I got a call from Sweetwater, they said they found out from _ _ _ that I was displeased with things, apologized, told me who my new rep would be and said call them when i needed something.
That was like 2 years ago and dealing with them has been cool ever since.
But unfortunately what you guys are saying is more the norm than my situation.
Good news is I saved a heap of money on my car insurance.
No I really did.

We have lots of options for getting gear just make use of them.

I am glad the 25's have hit the streets so we can see the quality control Akai used.
Everyone including Akai is hoping for a reliable product.
Except me I just want a Black 4000 or the prices on the used 4000's to drop.

Who knows maybe when jahrome has his buy 1 get the second half off 2500 christmas sale I'll go that route. :P

Damn..we droppin names now...I don't owe dude nothing..and he insulted me..my rep was/is Scott. I know his last name but will keep it at that.

My previous rep a few years ago was Marcel. I bought my UAD Studio card from him while I was in Japan. He went out of his way to get it too me quickly.

As far as the Buy 1 get the 2nd 1/2 off..don't go putting ideas in my head  But for real though..I am done with selling gear for profit. At least while I am living in the USA.

Nobody probably cares..but today is my birthday  And my Fantom X just arrived. (this was suppose to be a Sweetwater sell..but Scott was an azz). It looks really cheap sitting next to the Triton Studio..but the Triton Studio still has to go...

So I guess no christmas specials on the 2500's?

Seriously tho jahrome, most people you talk to have dealt with the same type of headache with Sweetwater.
Makes you wonder if it's in their handbook.
I know how many people there got on my nerve before I got to someone I could deal with.
Truthfully if I were you I would contact them to complain if this was recently.
I think more people should let them know how f*cked their reps can be.
It's one thing to hold the line on a price but for him to insult you that's over the top. :(

His last name is Senn right? You dont have to say his last name, I will. I'm almost sure he's the same rep. But anyway, HAPPY B-DAY dude. Mine was exactly 1 month ago today. I sure wish I could get the Triton studio from you but I really want the 25. Maybe if I win the Lotto tomorrow night I will get it off your hands.

The world is too small. We have to deal with the same crappy sales reps

Thanks taxman806. I am in the middle of a recording session now. The emcee can't get it in one take...or 5, 6, or 7 takes...so, I am letting them fend for themselves..all this on my B-day..for free.

Its a new unit, I have ordered from Alto many times.

Best price on the net. Plus I got the 128 megs of ram, all for under 1900.

What happened?? Did they charge you a premium for delivery and memory? That should have costed you anywhere from $1670-$1800.

sweetwater told me they don't discount their prices because they offer such great service and knowledge. Funny

They told be the same BS. They also said their sales reps are extremely knowledgable. My assigned sales rep didn't know squat.

It came to 1820 with 128 megs and fedex 2 day shipping.

Damn...glad I don't live in NY.

As far as the RAM...I purchased the Akai RAM to see if there were any differences that the RAM I picked up at the computer store for $53...no difference as already stated in the MPC 1000 forums. You may want to pass on the Akai RAM.

Happy B-Day Jahrome.

BTW, I've dealt with Scott Senn as well. Luckily it was only a small order. I bought some Auralex Temp Tabs (waste of $40). Scott asked me why I didn't buy any studio foam from them. I told him that I was able to buy 96 square feet of foam from another retailer for the same price, and the shipping was free (unlike Sweetwater at the time). He didnt know what to say at that point.

I only deal with Sweetwater for low priced items and odds & ends I cant find anywhere else. Thats about it.

I have a couple of 128mb simms/dimms around here somewhere, would one of those work? I pulled them from a DELL PC.
