You can't state that so easily. Only people who have problems tend to post it in a forum. The few here that don't have this problem and still tell it are a minority within all the 2500 owners I think. Comments in product related forums tend to distort the image of a product, usually to the bad side. Still it is too serious a problem to be ignored.

If you guys list that exact conditions that you use the MPC and the things that you were doing to get the pops...then maybe we can get to the route of the problem. Until then...some have problems and some don't. I am glad to be on the side with no problems. I hope to get you all hear as well.

I do use the effects during composition (they are not that great for anything else). I use the filters as well.

So will we find the source of this problem..or just keep going in circles saying the same thing?

I tried to remember what I did special when it happened, but don't have many hard facts to come up with. I know I had recorded something prior to it. I also know I had no MIDI nor Digital In/Out connected. I'm still waiting for the next occasion that it happens, so I can pin it down more exactly. Maybe it has really to do with something outside the MPC.

Well, they does make it hard to trouble shoot. When you are trying to get some kind of tech support, there is specific info that is needed.

1. Type of RAM
2. Make/model hard drive
3. CD burner installed?
4. USB port connected to PC
5. Pops occur when playing samples?
6. Pops occur while the sequencer is stopped?
7. Source of samples? Recorded into the MPC or loaded from disk?
8. Effects or filters used?
9. Anything connected to the input thru?
10. What is used to monitor the MPCs audio (mixer, powered monitors, etc)
11. Pops coming from stereo outs or individual outs?

These would be the kind of questions that would need to be answered.

I've had mine since December and haven't heard a single pop. I use mines w/ samples and midi. I've never connected mines w/ a usb cable to the computer cause i have a CF card reader on my computer.

I think there is some correlation b/w the USB and the MPC f**king up. Not just the pops but f**king up in general....
