Yes that really should be in it. I was a bit surprised by the fact that it doesn't audition the pad you hit.

Ok...that's one but what are the others?

I've never used the XL but this simult feature that a lot of people bang on aboutwould be nice, or separate layers per filter would be even better.

Would be nice if Akai would carry over the synth-like tradition to the MPCs as well. And the Q-Links literally BEG for being routed to all the possible filter and effects settings onboard, as well as the MIDI Out!

I would love to be able to asign Filters To Layers not just the whole pad,

like on the 2000xl, that way i can layer the same sound but filter it!

i wanna be able to increas the measure of the count in

simult is really all i ask. and that tempo calculation. also it would be nice to be able to set the mix amount on filters, so i dont have to do a lowpass with high res on a high frequency just to add some air to a sample. oh yeah and notch filters (reverse bandpass) thats really it.

since the 2500 is aimed to replace the 2000 line, i think any features of the XL will eventually make its way onto the machine tho i could be wrong.

as long as akai stays consistant with fixing bugs like they have been i will be content

Ok guys... so how about the new operating system, like the MPC 4000 and the MPC 2000, upgrade the MPC 2500's event resolution to 300,000 events in the sequencer. It only has 100,000 and I know people say it doesn't make a difference but I believe it can. Why the downgrade in the first place.

To take it a step further, it would be amazing if they took the Roger Linn algorithms from the MPC 60/3000 and used those in the sequencer for the 2500. Its tough to deny the difference in swing. I doubt this would ever happen...

....there is nothing special swing that you can get from an older MPC that you can't get with a newer MPC.

Copy and paste any section of a sequence with all the tracks to both a new seq as well as anywhere within a pre existing seq. I'm sick of the time sig trick.

Also the sample combine feature in the wave edit view. Where you could take any highlighted section of a sample and insert it anywhere in another sample. The xl did this and i miss it a lot.

Akai needs to look at what is happening now. These are things sequencer programs and basic wave editors have been doing for years.

But these 2 are my biggest gripes.

Oh yeah, also a time marker in the wave view.

It can copy parts of a track and paste it to other tracks in the same or different sequences. But only one track at a time. It can also make copies of complete sequences. No other MPC can do what you are asking unless the 4000 has this function. I seriously doubt this MPC will ever have the full editing functions of a software based sequencer/DAW..especially with the size of the LCD screen.

Copying parts of a sample and pasting it to a different sample is a feature that other MPCs had that the is missing from this model.

Copy paste, I agree, multiple tracks would help.
