here are 2 pics of the logic settings i used with the mpc settings that pd-sh posted

only thing say you want to record mpc beats into logic i have to press play on the mpc then it will read out saying ( waiting for time code )
hit record in logic and they both sync right on the beat
but its too fussy to be back and forth pressing play on the mpc so i just use midi clock

Fussy to be going back and forth?

The MPC has a total of 10 outputs. How many times do you really need to go back and forth? You are just tracking audio from the MPC. Are you doing something more than that?

I ask because I really don't use any form of sync for the most part. I arm my DAW to record and then press play on the MPC. Once the MPC is recorded, I can full around with the recorded audio as much as I like.

i use logic as a sound module as logic has really nice instruments and synth. so i need them both to be playing when am making a beat.
going back and forth kinda cut the vibes .

i also use both mpc and logic for sequencing, tracking and mixing.
its a wicked combo
what type of daw are you using?

I use Nuendo 3. With the MPC, I can sequence both hardware or software. I use Nuendo for tracking and mixing. If needed, I can also record additional audio using software instruments.

I only use MTC when recording into Logic (whether outputting Midi or Audio from the MPC) otherwise I leave it on midi clock. Then at least I know the recorded stuff is bang on.

My autoloads (I have a few different templates) are all set up for Midi clock sync, but it's easy enough to change. I also have my default latency at 128ms, which I switch to 32ms when recording.

Here's the deal. I got an email from the guys in Japan (JJ & Co.) and they told me that they are contemplating a new 2500 OS. Nothing decided yet, but they want to figure out what bugs are out there are the 2500 so they added that page to their site.

It looks like the new 1000 OS will drop in mid September, and then they are anticipating another month to work out all of the bugs. So they said if they begin working on a 2500 OS it would be sometime after November.

They said they can't promise they will do the 2500 OS at this point, but they are considering it. I'm not sure if you all have started an official list of 2500 bugs, but that would probably be the best way to go I'd imagine.

Peace.

Here comes comments from the big 2500 fanatic (or azz as some refer to me as...)

Why would we need a 3rd party to attempt to fix any bugs (real or imagined) when we have the company that created the actual unit still supporting it? We just received an OS update a week or so ago to fix the same bugs that we have reported here in the forums. The knuckle heads here that post endless threads about bugs are really just kids that are excited that they got their brand new toy and didn't take time to read the manual or learn it....

As far as the JJ OS..the only thing they are going to do is release a bug infested MPC 1000 OS (and charging you for it). Only to go back to the drawing board and release bug fixes. I think JJ should focus on and finsh the 1000 OS before tinkering with the MPC 2500s OS. But of course, they are free to do what they want...

Yes, I am skeptical.

Big J...i think you misunderstood me...I would never think about trading in my XL for a 1k...i have both. I meant that he did a great job imlementing new fatures to the 1k...all the little things that the 2500 had like direct rec, grid edit, not having to unplg ur usb to mount.

Im saying if he can do that for the 1k...how hard can it be to to implement thngs such as si mult...COME ON, IF THE MAN CAN PUT PONG ON THE 1K...HE CANT MAKE 1 PAD TRIGGER ANOTHER???????

Bugs bugs bugs...there will always be buggers in the new models...at least this dude fixes em promptly...how long yall waiting for akai? I know ur skeptical its okay my man, it what makes the world rotate...juss give it a shot..."TAKE A HIT MAAAAN"...hehe, my homie savilion tells m you got a family of producers..thats ill, i hope to breed heads aswell...good goin J...

trade in an xl for a 1k...hahahaahahhahaha

a thought came to my head, all the new features that jj put in the 1000 looks like features from the 2500. may be the 1000 use the same processor and electronics as the 2500
so its just a reprogram of the 2500 os bin to fit in 1000

so what new features will the 2500 has. :?: :?:
must be features from the 4000 or the 15,000 just a thought
