Well, next, I would try switching the cable plugged into MIDI INPUT 1 to MIDI INPUT 2 on your MPC. Make sure that you make the appropriate settings on the MPC page...thus it should be SLAVE IN 2 versus 1.
Also, if that doesn't work, test your MPCs MIDI INPUTs using an external MIDI keyboard/keyboard controller. If you can record a sequence on your MPC with the controller...it would be highly unlikely there is something wrong with your MPC. It could be your copy of Nuendo.
I have tried the above and still can not get it to work, I can record a sequence with my controller on the mpc ok. This would suggest the mpc midi interface is working, I took it back to were i bought it and they tried to sync it to protools, they could not get it to slave at all. only option left is to send it back to Akai .
