CD TEAC HELP

Well, when I bought my MPC 2500 18 months ago, I purchased a Pioneer DVD/CDRW drive, which I could never get to work. Because of this thread, I pulled it out of storage. I did what was described as above. At first, it seemed to work great. I can play and load CD files fine. However, when I tried to burn, my MPC 2500 when a little crazy. (Please note that I am using the JJ OS 5.09). It first seemed to burn then it locked up my MPC with a garbled screen. Its too late in the evening to play with it some more.

So you guys that were too cheap...excuse me...I mean adventurous enough to modify a CD drive for your MPC 2500, can you get it to burn CDs?

yes. cos its the same drive that akai uses. the 224 E and the 224E C are exactly the same. just the default slave/master thing is different.

its because of the buffer in that drive it needs to be 2 mb or more

if you usethe teac 224e-c drive with a removed 47 pin it will work the same for about 70 dollars shipped from ebay

Can someone confirm that you can burn audio CDs with these modified CD/DVD Rom drives.

I tried again, and it works but it causes malfuntions in my save/load menus.

I have the CDM25 which works fine. I just had a Pansonice drive that I wanted to see if I could get it to work. Before this thread, it wouldn't work at all. But by modifying it with the information in this thread, it seems to work as a CD player but not completely as a burner.

ive got no problems buring to my drive. whats size the buffer cache

installed and it aint working, my mpc stays where it saya MPC 2500 (128MB Inttalled)

Can't get passed that screen

guess i'll return it then, i'm not gonna bother modifying it.

Well, thank you for noticing. Since I already have a perfectly working CDM25, I wanted to try different CD drives to see if they work so people will have other options. Next thing you know, the prices of Teac drives will go up But then again, you can get the CDM25 for free when you buy an MPC 2500 today

SH!T, I bought my MPC2500 in November of 05 amd STILL got the CDM25 for free. Ahhh, technology is sthe sh!t!

im in england blad we dont get the free drive
