distortedtekno, thanks for B-day wishes. As far as Sweetwater...I don't know. I still want to get that Kurzweil K2661 and may want to get a Pro Tools HD set-up. They were suppose to be the right place to go for these things.

taxman806 wrote:DAMN :? Let me know if it is a new unit though. Like I said, I'm on the list for the next shipment. At that price I can wait I guess. But I'm getting so frustrated myself. I was going to buy from sweetwater but they are assholes. My sales rep really didnt seem to want to sell anything. I usually buy from Musicians friend but they wont have one in until the end of november. Let me know whats up though.

I spoke to Dan from sweetwater he said they had 1 unit left. You may want to give them a call again.

But dont even try to get them to come down on the price. That dude dont price match what-so-eva.

Thats why Alto gets my doe.

I am still over at FP. But since this is MPC 2500 specific, I will stay here for a minute (even longer if the new highend MPC drops). I have used MPCs for quite sometime, and there really wasn't anything new to talk about in the 3000/2000XL forum so I rarely posted there.

I even frequent the MV site. I want to be like my idol, Hurricane Producer, and buy one of every workstation that is available

Another one of my favorite sites is www.nuendo.com.

Nah, I'll wait for Alto. Even with shipping included I should still save around 300 dollars. I might get lucky and find a motif rack for that much!!

What the hell for when you plan to use Nuendo instead of the MPC hardware?

The MPC is a sampler/drum machines/sequencer. Nuendo 3 is a multi-media production application. Unlimited audio and MIDI tracks (depending on your CPU), plug-in effects, sample editing, any so much more, it will take up a page or two. I don't use Nuendo 3 to sequence MIDI that much. The MPC can actually sequence both hardware and software instruments.

1500-1600.00 is what i think the mpc2500 should go for...i mean really..otherwise just get the mpc1000 v2 and put a hd in it...maybe 1100.00 max!! between $1100- $2000 is a huge gap...an the mpc2k is really not a factor here..its on iys way out anyhow.

Its nice to hear people cpeculate what dealers should charge for any MPC, but the reality is that they will cost you between $1600-$1999.

I just received an MPC 2500 from Alto, and it cost me just under $1600 total including delivery. The box appeared to be opened and it was probably turned on and tested. But it does appear to be new..still smells new

$1600 is a helluva price for a NEW MPC..especially since I would have paid $2000 for one.

I have a question for you guys...did your MPC come with a warranty/registration card? In Japan, they ship with these cards.

I did not read the whole thread but........

mark up from BOM to finished product is usually like 400%

So BOM=$500

List price=$2000
