Until then...some have problems and some don't. I am glad to be on the side with no problems. I hope to get you all hear as well.

I do use the effects during composition (they are not that great for anything else). I use the filters as well.

So will we find the source of this problem..or just keep going in circles saying the same thing?

I just set up the word clock in pro tools for S/PDIF. I haven't had any pops lately. Although, I upgraded to a Monster 3500 and I have the usb unplugged. I have to do some more test, but for the digital connection. I believe the pops are from an out of sync signal. So far so good!

OK I think I might have left something out. The kick that I uploaded is actually "OK" (feel free to scavenge) there is just a click in the beg.
(when I actually recorded the kick i was xperiencing major difficulties I explain later)

But that is "normal" when I sample through my digital In.

After I RECORDED THE SAMPLE THROUGH MY DIGITAL IN the Machine started spazzing out on me. Each time I hit a pad(This was with Programs I didn't verify MIDI) I heard a noise that sounded like aliens were underneath the pad and they'd like for me to stop.

I was just about to turn the machine off then on again when I remembered "The Input Thru Fix :) ". So I pressed it. and everything was "ok"

From what i've gathered it seems the noise may be at a specific level within the MPC

When I uploaded the kick I thought the Pops would have been transferred over to the sample However:

The Sample "saved" with no discernible "noise"
Each Time I pressed a pad I heard weird noises (please don't ask)
I turned on Input thru and the noise "vanished"

Hope This helps

That click in the beginning of the sample is just how it sounded in mine, just that it happened all over, even when no sample or sequence was playing.

Boogie Man, if you want to know what we're talking about, go download the sample newmp posted above.

I Ight Potna I'll bring you up to speed. A few of us on this forum have been experiencing Pops when using our 2500's.

As far as explaining what it is, It's just random pops (or worse) that sound whenever you press a pad, or play back your Sequence. I tried to upload a good copy of what I go through with the Pops, but there is nothing inside of the kick compared to what I was hearing when I pressed a pad.

The few of us who are inconvenienced by this sht@t are at least trying to isolate the cause before we personally bumrush Akai Headquarters. I'm just kidding about the bumrush but on a serious note WE are trying to isolate what could be wrong. So far as you can see from the thread there are a lot of leads but nothing Solid.

Im hearing pops right now. I cant beleive I wasted 2000 dollars on this nice machine that Akai did not obviously test out before they sold em, and Im not gonna pay a service fee. What can be done about this? Will the warranty cover it? Is there gonna be an O.S Update?????

My speakers are poppin too whether i am sampling or recording midi. Sometimes they are there and sometimes they arent. They have a mind of there own. Freakin demons! I just emailed akai support and VST and am wating for a response. I mean i spend $2000 on a drum machine and i expect it to work.
