well yeah I know how paint and clear works. I did fiberglass car audio custom work which required plenty of it. :D

What I was asking wasn't why you had to use clear.. just what kind of clear you were using and whether you were going with a gloss or matte look.

And yeah forat does have that candy paint wet look alot.. but even that can be achieved without that embossed over sprayed look he gets around the button and pad cutouts.. mostly the button cutouts since they are smaller and the paint builds up around the cutout area and kind of bulges.

to me it looks like he is not reducing his mixes enough, to thin the paint before spraying. or he is spraying each coat consecutively to soon after the one before and he lays it on too thick. so the paint builds at the cutout edges and can not level and cures that way.

Your silver base came out great. nice and level. flat and even. Its obvious that you have to clear it to protect the silk screen text, but I was just curious whether you wanted to keep the matte look, or if you wanted to create some depth by doing gloss clear over a matte base.
personally I like the ALL matte look. especially for this job.

Jeez Son! (and that's an abbreviation of your name, not like "what up dunnie"- but really, the abbreviation is unecessary because typing your full screen name instead of this explanation woulda been WAY easier)

Back to my post:

That thing is DOPE!!!

SonSeelye,

I've always have dug your custom work. It's clean, simple and well put together and would appear to be stock to a person were not all into MPC's like we are. But man I gotta say this one takes the cake. You went all out.
That ish is sick brah!!!

Know this, I would only outsource my MPC custom jobs to you and you only, your skillz are ill!
