if it happens it happens! if it dont akai is blasting rocks in the office with the money we spent

Hopefully, Akai is working on fixing the few (there are just a few) bugs that remain. I can mos def see now how bringing this function back and improving upon it will be a great addition to the 2500s OS.

As far as the shift timing..this was/is a standard MPC function. Akai should have never moved it in the first place. I am glad that they did bring it back.

What would you feature would you like most:
1) simult or 2) seperate filter per layer?

Ok. Let's revisit this function which I have been playing with on my 3000 for the past week or so.

Now, is this a function that is more for Live use or Studio use?

its great for both live and studio settings.....I could hit out my layered drums no problem with the 2000 using simult ...now on the 2500 i have to resample allllllll my layers..because when I layer on the 2500 I use diffrent pgms as my layers just put the drums on the same pads and copy the track and change the pgm......

simult just made shit ALOT quicker and had me banging out the final drums in real time instead of copying tracks and pgms and bullshit like that

aswell its usefull for linking samples together and panning one left one right...this can all be done on the 2500 dont get me wrong..its just a workflow things ....makes no sence to speed up the trimming process but slow down the layering process.

this is the only option i would like to see put back into moderin akai os's...and honestly if the 2500 users get an update with simult ... I would think that the 2500 would be the most usefull machien for my needss

jahrome try taking 2 of of the same kicks and layering them together ...filter one of them to your taste so its really low end then use simult to trigger your orginal kick...then hit your kick out live and FEEL THE POWER OF SIMULT hahahahh I donno makes me feel good when I hit out the drum thats most likly gonna be the final drum in my mix (with a little tweeking of course) but yeah I guess its all about both studio and when I wanna smash out drums live!

here's a workaround -

don't use the layering function anymore.
say you have a kick drum on A01 you want layered. put the sample you want A01 layered with in B01. now, in grid mode, program both in. use bank A for chopped breaks and bank B for layer stuff...usually thicker, less accoustic drums

a little more legwork but in the end you'll find that it's really nice, especially for getting a nice loose and flammy snare

I agree there needs to be some more sound options for the layers. It is pretty much unusable, except with changing layers with the sliders. Otherwise it'll sound like mush.
