New JJ Os For The 2500 Is Here. Check It Out.

OK..so I am not the only one that feels that way. Some screens do feel somehwt cluttered.

Currently, the shift button gives you quick access to the audio tracks. However, we need the shift function to lock the T/C options to the main sequencer screen. So the audio track selection flashes briefly when gaining access to the T/C functions. Not really a big deal, but it looks like a hack....less professional.

I don't know how it happend but the intensity of my screen went down.
When i tried to adjust it (by holding the shiftbutton & turning the datawheel) it didn't change...
When I relinstalled the old os it worked again.
After reinstaling the OS3 it was just like before, less contrast and still unadjustable...

I guess I wait for a newer OS before I change it, because this JJversion ain't working that well in my machine. Like I said before, my tracks mute randomly without touching anu pads...

i'm pretty impressed so far...

i just found out this function has been incorporated into JJ's 1k OS: http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/slider.htm

That's heavy, just like on the old Roland samplers where you could modulate the start and end points of the sample. Wonder if it's possible to route the LFO to sample start point?

so this is for the second time: erase the trackmute events (there should be some!!) and everything should work again.
for adjusting the intensity of the screen hold the STOP button and turn the datawheel (got this from the mpc 1000 jj-os manual!)

Modulating sample start/end? Nope.

Hello everyone. Haven't been around in awhile. So JJOS is out eh? From what I read, I think I'm going to wait on the install. Looks to be going in the right direction though.

Grid Edit is worse.

Trim Fuctionality is better.

Load and Save Screens much better.

Like Jah says a couple of things like the Audio Outs and MIDI C and D.

But overall quite a nice layout. I like the little things, like MTC is displayed on the screen. The timer is more detailed as well.

MTC still isn't working how I imagined, but maybe I just need to play around with it a bit more.

TBH tho, I think I'll use the Akai official OS. Just because I'm used to where everything is and that the MIDI ports work..... well they work better than the JJ's.

Not on either side because again I am not sure there are sides but currently JJ has fixed the MIDI C/D problem and MTC works as it should.

His GRID is f*cked since it only does 16 PAD and not the 3 or 8, to me 8 is a good balance for the size of the screen and function arrangement in the AKAI OS.

The TRIM doesn't look as good on JJ, but functions better with the way things respond.

Load/Save screens I don't like.
The Akia screen is clean and follows a hierchy similar to a computer, the JJ is more like a groove box or drum machine.
The size and available types of media the 2500 can access makes it not flow as smoothly as Akai's structure.

MTC on the screen is available on the Akai OS, it's just you select bars:beats or Time Code.

Still have to remember the biggest thing is the JJ 2500 OS is just rearranging a lot of 2500 aspects not adding functions like the 1k.

I hate to keep saying it but the working tempo detect is still one of the biggest things that JJ fixed since it gives back a feature from the XL.
Akai MTC worked then got broken but the tempo detect has been a mess from day one.

Is not anybody missing the FX send amount in the FX mixer?

Also the option "Pads play internal sounds" has changed. I think that before the sounds were playing from the sequencer with this option set to off (but not hitting the pads), now the sounds simply don't play.

It would be cool also a global filter for all pads in a program, now that there is an option to affect all pads with the sliders.

Excuse my ignorance, but where do I download that JJ OS3?
