hitting one pad -> more pad-hits recorded

if smbd could tell me, why my mpc 2500 plays the sound/midi note of more than one
pad when i hit only one.

ie:

i hit pad 3, and the sequencer records and plays pads 1,2 and/or 4 (visible in grid-mode).

sounds like the reoccurring 2500 ghost note issue. this is a weird thing that i've pinned down the problem/solution to. it could potentially happen to any MPC sensor but it appears to happen most to the 2500. i'm not going to get into the physics of what i think is happening inside the sensor itself, but i will say that the fix doesn't necessarily require any replacement parts. instead, this can be solved by increasing your pad's NOTE ON activation threshold, but unfortunately you can't do that with the 2500's factory os.

ALAS WHERE IS A MAN TO TURN?!?!

(here's the question to the naysayers - why is it better to leave the man hanging than to provide him with a real solution?)
