Anyone know if the MPC2500 has been discontinued?

Why would you ask that. I just checked www.akaipro.com and they still list it. it would not surprise me if they did discontinue it soon and come out with something else like the WAKAI MPC3500 :D

I've noticed a couple of major online shops have them on "Closeout" at a reduced price.

bring it on. who really cares if you already got one 8)

i imagine even if they came out with something new (which i would put serious money on couldnt compare to a 2500 with jjos) i'd still rock this 2500 all day long like it just came out yesterday

they'd have to completely revamp their approach to programming to even be able to compete with their own aftermarket product. long be the 2500 (buy used)

I will forever be a 2500 user. I am actually about to load JJ OS 3.06 (free version) just to see what all the hype is.

Now may be the time to cash in my XL for a 2500. The drop in price and the free cd burner and RAM rebate is too good to pass up. Not to mention the XL is sorely lacking grid editing.

I'm curious to hear how you get on being that you've been round these parts so long .....I'm tempted also but this machine is still so new to me so I'm a little worried bout the change of habits (ways of doing and viewing things) of the JJOS. Mind you it'll kinda make it a new machine out it once loaded with the JJOS so I don't care if it gets discontinued :D

I've thought about trying it myself a few times,....but I'm not sure what's all in the JJOS. I know it has a ton of features but I'm coo rockin' the 2500 as is.....for now anyway

If I cop a 2500, it's JJ all the way.

Yea, thanks for the constructive comments. I won't be paying another $100 for my OS anytime soon either.
