Im thinking about getting a 2500 and one thing that turns me on about it is the drag and drop, pc to mpc feature. I was wondering if its ok to keep the usb connected at all times though, because the manual suggests otherwise. I basically want to use my comp as a dedicated recorder/sampler and don't want to be unplugging the usb after everytime i drag a file over. thanks!

goto akaipro.com and download and read the manual addendums - some things have been changed, addd and fixed since the original os. i personally cannot understand why akai is not combining this documents into one, so new users can find that informations easier.

anyways on your question: akai has changed the usb connection so you can leave it connected all time (except if you are on a mac - then it is recomended to thrash the mpc disk if you are done with your transfer. but you can leave the cable connected - to mount the disk again just turn on the usb page in the mpc.)
