Individual outputs Fxs

Hi!!!

I´m using the individual outputs of my mpc 2500 these days, before i only used the stereo out but.... I´m not able to send efects to individual outputs, let´s say, sending a kick with beat grunger on output 5... I asume that effect can only be sent on the stereo output?

I can build a PC that competes with it for $1000 or less now the feel will be different that is why we go with the MPC..

I paid $3400 for my MPC3000 back when and nothing really has changed since. a few minor tweaks but I bet everyone will give up Chopshop for some real time Processing feel.

Unlimited outs stereo effects with up to at least 512mb of ram..

is that worth $3400?

come on this is so stupid now adays that we buy shit like this and they are so far behind I am a big fan of the MPC and love it but technology part of it in Cumberland RI sux they should all be fired..

I wish I new more about the specs and what was put into creating all of thes products.......

All effects can only be sent through the stereo outs. It's a **** for sure. But, I did find a work around for this.
I don't have my MP in front of me, so there might be a few minor differences.

1. Connect the stereo outs to the record in's
2. Go to the record screen, select stereo input, monitor off
3. Press record and hit the pad
4. Keep your sample.
Voila, a grunged kick sample.
5. Replace the original kick sample and take off the effect.

to resample the main outs of the mpc2500 you don´t need cables!!! just choose main in the record screen - there will be no level control, but you can always nomalize later if it doesn´t come out loud enough.

Well of course you don't "need" cables. The advantage is yes, the volume. When tracking to my computer, I route everything through a very high-end Tube/FET channel strip. When a sample that is recorded is normalized the volume is essentially maxed out. Therefore, not leaving much headroom for the channel strip. This means when tracking to my computer, the sample will lack the full extent of the warmth that the channel strip can put out. With a channel strip that has FET & Tube circuitry, you can really pump the tube gain for warmth and limit perfectly with the compressor running on the FET circuit. Far cleaner limiting than a tube circuit. For most 2500 users this wouldn't matter, but it's about keeping your options open. You never know when you'll find yourself in a pro environment, tracking through high end gear.

Nym, I completely agree. I personally only use the FX as tests to see if (for example) reverb will sound good on a snare, and then use Waves reverb once it's on the computer. But some people really like the MPC FX & want that specific sound. Particularly the grunger. However, what I said previously was more of an example of why to leave that headroom when sampling in general.
