Will the MPC 2500 have enough juice to power a shure sm58 plugged directly into the input?

The MPC2500 does not "power" mics connected to it. If that mic needs power, you need to get it from elsewhere.

The 58 doesnt need phantom but it will need a boost. You need a mixer or preamp of some sort.

From personal experience with that mic-- Yes, it will work. It won't sound amazing, but the MPC preamp DOES have enough gain to record an sm58 straight in.

right it wont sound amazing. It will most likely sound like trash. So why do it then?
