I was working on a beat last nite. When I was done, I went into the Save Screen, created a New Folder and named it like i usuallly do. Then... when i hit enter after naming it, my MPC just froze on that screen.

I had to turn the MPC off and lost the beat. Once i turned it back on, i tried creating a new folder just to see if it would do it again, and it did.

I had all my other beats and drum & synth library backed up on my Mac, luckily. So... I Formated the drive in my MPC and then re-transferred my files back to it from the mac. Took about 6 hrs.

It seems to be working fine now, but i'm not sure why this happened.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I bought my MPC used off e-bay. It was in excellent condition with all the options. It appeared as though it was hardly used. It has an 80 gig internal hard drive, i'm not sure what brand it is.

I'm gonna keep working on the MPC, and hopefully it doesn't happen again. If it does i may send it out to VST and get a new hard drive put in it.

The internal hard drive is a great feature of the new MPC's, but damn it... now i'm having computer type issues with my MPC. What the F**k!?!?!?

Really now...you're buying a used MPC without knowing what the previous did with it, but you blame the MPC for not working correctly?
