I could do without the jog wheel, but I can't save or load without F6. Does replacing the jog wheel board solve the issue? Are the F4-F6 connected to this board? The F1-F3 buttons work fine. I just switched to JJ OS2XL, it wouldn't be the prob?

I can't even reinstall the O.S. because the F6/Do It button is dead. Is there a workaround? Why would only half the F buttons and the jog wheel go out at the same time? Everything else is cool. Boo.

try this

empty a cf card and reformat it as fat32
put ur os bin file on the card
insert the card in mpc
hold down the shift button
while holding the shift down, turn on the machine and keep the shift down until the screen says "found os"
then follow the directions on the screen(i believe u then have to hit record in order to load it..

hope this helps
have u done a factory reset?

You can get the board through akai directly. There is a thread with all of the part numbers for the 2500. As for the jog wheel you can also get that from akai directly it's cheaper than buying it from mpcstuff.

The F button board connects into the jog wheel board.

Yeah I tried a reset, shift doesn't work, just window and no F6= no reinstall. Gonna swap boards, and cross my fingers. Thanks for the help. Back to the ASR 10 and floppies for now.
