HARD DRIVE PROBLEMS

IV GOT THE SAME 80GB HD IN MY 2500 THE LAST TWO YEARS, AND OCCASIONALLY GIVES ME PROBLEMS LOADING AND SAVING! RECENTLY IT JUST TOTALLY STOPPED THE WORKFLOW FOR THE LAST TIME BECAUSE IV HAD ENOUGH "WRONG FILE" ETC. LATELY IT FREEZES WHEN I TRY TO SAVE? THE 32MB FC THAT CAME WITH THE MPC I USE AS A LIL BACK UP AND HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN! SO I AM THINKING OF JUST WORKING WITH JUST FLASH CARDS FROM NOW ON? DOES ANYBODY DO THIS? AND IF SO WHAT CARDS WOULD YOU RECOMMEND? THANKS

mate - easy on the capitals - looks like you're shouting.

My 2500 works fine with SanDisk cards. I work with cards only as I've heard too many stories about hard drives going wrong (its a law of averages thing I guess, more moving parts = more parts to go wrong).

I have some other 'extrememory' cards and they work really well

Which OS are you running? I had many problems with my 80gig harddrive when I was using Akai OS 1.23. Ever since I switched to JJ OS, I haven't had any problems with the harddrive.
