i don´t belive what i just found out by accident...
normally i´m not a sampling producer so i don´t use the chopshop, but today i found i nice flute sample and when i converted it to silced samples it took forever, like all the people were complaining, but the outcome was a new programm with all stereo samples!!!
i looked at the samples names and it said (st) to the right of all of them. also the waveforms for right and left channel are different.
why hasn´t anybody noticed that since the release of os 1.24 in august 09? even in our forum i gave misleading info to other members because in the manual addendum for os 1.24 akai just wrote one sentence: "Added support for Chop Shop 2.0 file saving and opening." which lead me to the false conclusion that the os only could open and save that files but could not create them.
so now it is clear why the chopshop feature is taking forever to slice the samples - it is silcing in real stereo now!
i can`t believe how poorly akai communicates that feature addition. now let´s see if we also see an os 2.0 for our babys, like the other mpc just got. or did akai promise feature additions and incorporation of user requests for the mpc5000 only?
peace jo
