when replacing a data jog wheel

when replacing a data jog wheel do i need to line it up a certain way or can i just slide it on where ever???

No, it needs to be aligned a certain way or it will get stuck when you put back the top cover.

yea i was wonderin why it was hella stiff when i put the black wheel on..though they gave me the wrong one. but unfortunately after buyin the whole right side motherboard and a new wheel thinkin that it would fix my data wheel, IT DIDNT!!!

and other ideas on how to fix it???

So how do we line up the data wheel, mine is getting stuck?

there is only one position the data wheel will fit perfectly in... it has a slight indentation on one part that only makes it fit in a certain position... this is why when you remove the data wheel, you need to align it a certain way and remember how you left it [i usually leave mine pointing at 12 o'clock so that i can put the knob back on in that same position later...

for now it sounds like you're going to have to try every position of the knob until it finally fits correctly and goes further down.
