Re-sampling perfet loops / sequences into the mpc2500

Hello everyone,

I am trying to load my mpc2500 with perfect sequences created with the same mpc2500
I have a moog, 303, xbase09 drum machine....etc and it is all running through a 16 channel mixer.
The MPC controls the moog / ms2000 via midi data and those machines all run into the mixer ( the same mixer that the mpc goes into x 8 ( 8 outs to 8 channels in )

My question is how do I resample the mpc direct of all my gear so that I can assign each sequence to its own pad for ( on/ off track ) for my live show on the road....

Do I have to use a computer to do this and then retransfer that way, or is there a way to get the mpc to sample itself , or Merge down individual tracks so that no sync is lost from the outboard gear?

Let me know if you need a better explanation, I am pretty sure there has to be some way to do it, I just havent figure it out yet.
I am using an mix wizard allen & heath 16 channel mixer and I have cubase ( but I really dont want to have to use the computer if I dont have too. )

Resampling is in your manual but I think it only pertains to the audio coming OUT of the mpc.

Looks like I will have to go use cubase to layer everything and then reexport the layers as wav files...oh well.

can't you just record each machine seperately into its own mpc track - would be time consuming though? either have the hardware outs into the mpc ins individually, or silence all channels on the mixer apart from the one you are trying to record, and have the mixer out into the mpc audio in

Well actually that will work I think.
If I setup the headphones out to another pair of speakers I should be able to hear what I am doing and then resample each individual track by muting each part on the mixer one by one, once my whole song is arranged. I guess when I go to sample , I shouldnt lose syncronization of the midi out to the moog or whatever else I am trying to merge to each individual track. This will eliminate my need to bounce the track over to the computer. yeah, that should work just fine! Thanks for the idea. I could probably also get some weird patch cable which splits the signal of the main outs on the mpc one feeding back into itself, but then I would have to work carefully using the rec gain button so I dont hit a feedback loop.

Unfortunately I have the JJ 0s , so the manual for direct recording wont help me lampdog....hopefully JJ still has that feature in there somewhere.

Well good luck with that - Direct Recording is the only thing that keeps me on AKAI OS. Im amazed that its not in JJOS - but then Im not a programmer - so there must be a reason.

I still love my 2500 with AKAI OS

oh man, are you serious? that sucks....well I will have to make some phunky split cable at radio shack and mess with the gains and work in earphones then...what a pain in thee arse!
