problems mpc 2500 having limited samples per folder

ok im not a forum guy this is my first time posting.
but any way i have a mpc 2500 with the latest o.s. 1.2.4 and a 160 gig internal hard drive.
when dragging and dropping samples from the pc to a specific folder lets say (my samples) folder.
everytime i use up a certian amount of space on that folder in between 140 and 159 mb the mpc starts to not see my samples after that piont. when looking on the computer and opening the mpc drive i see the samples so i know they are properly placed so if i create a new folder in the mpc and start putting new or the unssen samples in that folder the mpc reconizes them fine from my understang acording to akai you can put as many sample as you like into a single folder but keep in mind the tech support guru said he had a mpc 5000 with gigs of samples in 1 folder maybe its bad mpc maybe its a 2500 issue that wasnt discovered yet i was told. so has any one else experinced this problem using a 2500 if so please help! and also i put three different drives in wich were all mpc reformatted and no im not saving to the root drive so lets x-out the hard drive factor. i also reinstalled the os and initialized the mpc several of times.

yeah im having similar problems.

I had about 10hours work done and because i had too many files in the on folder (i think) it just stopped recognizing that the audio files existed.

at least when your loading into computer your files arer there. I lost everything except the pgm files

yeah I just tried this too to confirm it.
I mounted the hard drive in my mpc2500 via USB and copied sounds into a folder labeled TEST FOLDER.
On my pc I copied 3073 files totaling 258mb total. Then I Bulk Renamed all 3073 files using the name FILE and a corresponding number from 1 to 3073.
however once I unmounted the drive from my pc and accessed the load screen on the mpc I could only see up to 1030 of the files. And what stranger is they were not in the order I expected to see them in.

Instead of starting at 1 they started at file 1000 thru 1029 then jumped to 103,1030-1039,104,1040-1049 and repeated that a bit until 1066.(why stop at 1066? and not 1069 before seeing 107 and 1070?) Weird!

then it went from 107 to 190, then jumped to 1900 thru 1919 to 192 and then 1920 thru 1929 then 193 and continued this behavior until File 283. then ironically it ignored the previous number pairing and went from 283 all the way to 999 uninterrupted.
VERY strange number pairing behavior. I can understand it seeing 103,1030-1039,104,1040-1049.. but it didn't continue that layout despite the fact that there were 3073 files. Which leads me to believe it may have something to do with the order they were copied to the folder chronologically, despite the fact that I renamed them all in bulk at one time.

In any case, the current limit for sample storage on the mpc is 999 or 998 depending on your os. So a folder limit of 1030 seems like more than enough for any single load task. Besides anything MORE than that would just be a nightmare to audition thru. lol

P.s. I am running JJOS FREE 3.09

i think that the most secure way of messin with an mpc is NEVER EVER EVR rename flie names. keep everything as "sample 1" etc

(okay, i'll bite <no rainbow>) yeah but you are SURE to have more than ONE sample 1 eventually. then what?

If you have 20 folders and they all say Kick1, Kick 2, etc, but all of them are different, How can u then load and save multiple files of the same name? you cant without renaming them.
