I'm really happy with everything physicallly wise, except the scroll wheel feels like shiiiit.. I can't do anything so far inside the machine, because I haven't started with the manual. I'm just happy to finally become somewhat part of the mpc-forums community, and now I can relate in some way.

Glad you're on board. A word of advice though, take it easy on the jog wheel. Use it slowly, or just use your +/- buttons instead...

Thank's for advice. I actually find the +/- key muchh better. I can't wait till someone comes up with a mod for the wheel.

You get down on the 2500?

Yeah! I started off with my XL back in 2000. Now I use the 2500 mostly. Still have the XL though!

And you don't think the jog wheel on the mpc 2500 is not that good? I don't know man, I just got my MPC today, used, off of craiglist. The MPC looks mint, that plastic sheet is still over the screen. I'm happy with everything, but the wheel. When I spin it it stops sometimes..

I think Hellfire either won the MPC lottery or has an in with Akai. He seems to have gotten the golden ticket 2500 with a jog wheel that doesn't suck.

Yeah, never had an issue with mine. It's a bit loud, sure, but that doesn't bother me like it does most 2500 users on here. It has yet to stick or anything like that. But I only had it since December of 08!

My jog is fine too, since 08. Not the best one ever, but it works. There's not that much to complain about with the 2500 IMO, so the jog wheel gets a lot of attention.

Well I got the MPC used. I can tell the overall condition of it is really good, because the plastic sheet is still over the screen. I have never tried an mpc before, but this jog wheel is just garbage. When I spin it it stops at times. Do you guys have this problem?

I got my 2500 in Feb. of 2006. My jog wheel lasted about a year or so. But, I didn't know that they were prone to malfunctioning. So, I suppose I was pretty hard on it and used it like I have used the wheels on the 2000's and 2000XL's which could take the punishment and hold up.
