autoload wont turn off

Hi,

I am trying to turn of the autoload function on my 2500. I do as it says in the manual (press window on the 'load from' section of the 'load' screen and then change 'autoload' to OFF)

However when i turn my MPC back on it still loads up old sampls etc, even though the autoload still says OFF.

Im not sure why this is....if i hook up the MPC to my laptop and open up the memory card there is a file inside called 'Autoload'...should i delete this (didnt want to just do it, incase it messes sumin up)?

Any advice much appreciated.

If you leave a card in the slot while powering up, it loads what is in the Autoload folder if there is one, regardless of the Autoload setting (also in the manual...).

I usually just hit delete all as soon as it powers up

thanks stilo, i am now starting the mpc without the card, and then inserting it once it has started up. All sorted now. I put together some nice drums last night, very pleased.

I go: mode>pad 6>window>delete>all>do it.

I just delete all the bunk sounds that it autoloads so when i load up my samples I dont have a bunch of extra ish to sort through
