I'm having a very annoying problem, i have connected my MPC to cubase through midi, 2 ways, meaning i have my midi cable going in cubase and then going out straight back into the mpc. I'm doing this simply to use Cubase as a the sequencer, i hit the pads on my mpc which are recorded into cubase and then sent back to the mpc. The problem is i am getting latency when i record into cubase. When i press the pad and play without recording there is not latency. But when i start recording the note is recorded nearly 1/4 later then when i pressed down on the pad. Can anyone help me please i've been trying to get this to work for awhile?????? thank you

(I've tried to do it another way which would be synchronising cubase with my mpc. But i when i press play on the mpc or cubase the mpc starts off a bit later so i gave up i would like it to start in the same time....)

I dont have the solution for you but I just want to say that I had Cubase LE and I could never sync it with my MPC2500 properly.

Even when I would call for customer service they didnt have the solution for me?

I got to frustrated and just bought ProTools. Been happy since and was able to sync it within minutes after installing the software. Loving it.

Good luck fam.

I know this thread is 3 years old now but rather than start a new thread on this same topic, i thought I'd ask here:

1. Were you (referring to the OP) able to resolve your problem with latency between your MPC2500 and Cubase SX3?

2. Also, could you (the OP) figure out how to get it to sync properly via MTC?

I have Nuendo 3 which is pretty much a beefed up Cubase SX3 and it syncs perfectly with my MPC4000. I've also tryed syncing it up with my MPC1000 running JJOS2xL and it syncs with Nuendo 3 via MTC just fine. However, I'm seriously thinking about getting an MPC2500 and running JJOSXL on it which brings me to my next question:

3. Is anyone having problems syncing an MPC2500 running JJOSXL to Cubase SX3 or Nuendo 3 or any other DAW software? I'm hoping the MPC2500 would behave just like the MPC1000 but I just want to be sure.

Oh yeah, one other thing is should ask is what computer midi interface are you all using? I think that can also play a significant role when it comes to syncing external midi gear based on my experience. I've tryed syncing with a M-Audio Midisport 2x2 and could never get the MPC to sync with it on Win XP. However I had no problems syncing when using the Emagic AMT8 or Unitor 8.

Thanks.
