saving sequences... no sound heard

I renamed my sequence and saved it to my memory card

the next time my MPC is turned on, I go to LOAD the sequence and it loads up

the BPM is correct and all that, but the loop I recorded in the sequence isn't there, there is no sound

what's the deal?

I still can't figure it out...

I'm going by the manual and everything...

I save the samples and the sequence and the program and it won't come up

I obviously sound like a retard but I can't believe I'm killin myself over trying to SAVE

it should be so simple...

this is like de-motivating me, I don't even wanna break out my MPC right now...

okay, well I got something to work, tell me if I'm completely right or if I'm doing too much....


turned the MPC on...

loaded all the samples to the pads... set the BPM....

created the loop I wanted with drums, sounds, etc....

this was all done on SEQ-1 and PROGRAM-1


so now I wanna call it a day, time to SAVE...


select 'SAVE ALL PROGRAMS & SAMPLES' to a NEW FOLDER

then... 'SAVE A SEQUENCE' item: 01-Sequence01


turned off the MPC..... turned it on to see if it saved everything...

LOAD > NEW FOLDER

load 'PROGRAM01' LOAD: WITH SAMPLE

REPLACE SAME SAMPLES IN MEMORY: NO (it works, but what would YES do?)

load SEQ-1 and everything is there, the loop and the samples


sound correct or am I doin too much or missing something else?

Easiest thing to do, on the 1000, 2500, and 5000, is just save entire memory. But it will still be worth know how to save the other way (saving the sequences, programs, and samples separately), will come in handy if you ever have to use a 2000/2000XL, 3000, or a 60/60II; not sure what the 4000's saving features are.

Problem solved?? What was the problem?
I always 'save entire memory' and for the last two years have never had any problems.

Are you using the latest Akai OS 1.24?
