Hi there!

my MPC 2500's jog wheel stopped working, along with a few of the 'F' buttons under the screen. i opened up the unit to see if there was anything i could identify as the cause of the problem, and found there was a fairly large crack in the board (see pics).

the pics aint that good (taken from my crappy camera fone!) anyway, i dunno if thers anyway to fix this? if not is there anywhere i can obtain a replacement board? ive seen one on mpc stuff but they say its on backorder and god knows how long that can take! ive tried to call akai and got no answer, so sent them an email via their website but dunno if they'll ever reply to that!

help would be greatly appreciated, im in the UK so if anybody knows any place i can get one here, or anywhere else for that matter that would be great!

well i bought it off ebay a while ago, to be fair it was working when i received it, and has been until a few days ago, maybe it was knocked during delivery? i dont have a clue! ive handled it carefully since ive had it anyway.

Looks like it got a hard hit on the data wheel, whether during shipping or before...and yes it looks like you need to replace it, I don't think you can fix stuff like that. You can get the board at http://www.MPCStuff.com or http://www.VSTservice.com (ask them if you don't find it in the online store, they're usually cheaper than MPCStuff), and they are not that expensive.
