Turning off one-shot mode?

Trying to make a bass line. Assigned sample to 15 levels but sample doesn't cut off when I hit the next pad. How do I switch the MPC to cut off after the next pad is hit?

set the original sample to mono instead of poly in the program mode, then all 16 pads should cut each other because 16 levels is actually just one sample.
