How to make a pad repeat itself...

Hi,
Just borrowed an mpc 2500 from a friend.
I want to buy it for a tour I am going to do.
Just have to find out if it's possible to play a pad (sample) and let it repeat iself (like a piece of text for instance).
In the meanwhile i have to be able to start and stop other samples while the first one is playing.

I don't have the time to read the complete manual so I was thinking to drop the question here...

Sequence the pad and set the sequence to loop, done, infinite repeat.
And you can trigger other pads while that sequenced pad is playing as well.

thanks for the answer.
I know that it's a really basic question but i worked with a other kind of sampler before.
Am I right that in the way you suggested i still have to start playing a sequence with the play button ?
Isn't it possible to let the sampler repeat one pad after i touched it ?
Believe me, i've spend some days trying this before posting this question.

Me, for an infinite loop, I'd just sequence it to retrigger.

stare at your mpc, point your finger at the pad and say in a stern voice

"ayo pad, say that shit again, "



if that does not work, use the pad repeat button like explicit said to do

In the past I worked with a sp 555 (roland)
They have a function of a sample starting to play as you push it (loop or one shot) until you push it again.

If I want to do this with several pads in different timings I won't get far with the repeat knob or
the sequence function (has to be on que with a live performance and different each time).

do you want to use theMPC or not??
just read the 99 paged manual it will take you half a day to master it..

2500 manual

05. [NOTE REPEAT] key

You can repeat a note according to the setting in T.C. (Timing Correct) by holding a
pad while pressing this key. For more information, see the “Note Repeat feature”
section on page 17.
