What's up all?

I have a 2500 and i emptied out my entire hard drive like 2 months ago. Yesterday I loaded about 500 wav drum samples into the hard drive. Then I selected and loaded about 20 into a new program. When I went to save, I made a new folder then when I went to name the folder the MPC froze. After three times going through this I shut it down for the night. Today I loaded another 20 into a program and attempted save again. When I went to rename the folder, ECGAY&FGHJK( came up.... Any Ideas what this could be? Could corrupt files have messed up my OS?

Thank you,

how exactly did you "empty" your entire harddisk? did you delete all files and folders from the mpc or from the computer?
did you format the drive? if yes, how did you do it? from the mpc or from the computer?
did you upgrade or change your os on the mpc? which os are you running?

the reason i ask all this is: there are some flaws in the older akai os regarding the filesystem. and the save/load bug.
and if you upgraded the os akai recommends to format the drive using the format utility in the mpc.
