I have a 80G harddrive installed in my MPC2500 and when i want to load or save something it will say:

HDD Free= 0.0MB
Wave Free= 118.4MB
Seq. Free= 4.6MB

BUT When I connect it to my mac it says i have 79Gs free on it.
My question is do i have to install something on it or is there a way to format it and start over?
(When I first connected it to my mac, I accidently used the HD as the Time Machine default)

you cannot access the hdd from the mpc because the mac most likely formated it for the use with time machine. that means that it is probably formated to hfs+ file system and has a guid partition scheme. the mpc can only read hdds wit fat filesystem and a mbr partition scheme.

to reformat the hdd goto the save/load page and look for the utility tab. there is a function to format the hdd.
akai recommends to reformat the hdd after an os upgrade, so if you are not on the latest official os 1.24 maybe upgrade the os before formating the hdd.

if the mpc is unable to reformat the hdd because of the way the mac formated it you have to use the disk utility on your mac to format the hdd to fat filesystem and mbr partition scheme. after this works it is recommended to format again using the internal utility in the mpc because the mpc seems to do something special and if you use hdds which are formated from the computer you could run more easily into the famous save/load bug.
