Dead pads? Please help

Hi people

Need Your help. Love my MPC 2500 but lately it gives my a headache. I have the JJ OS XL and I have not used the unit for few months. yeasterday I have switched it on and it looks like some pads are not responding!!!
I have tried all the other OS's and it seems that the pads in the whole second row from the bottom is dead.
They trigger randomly like once in few seconds. When I go to the MISC page to check out the pads activity the meters on the faulty pads show that the pads are sensing the pressure but the velocity meter is not moving. Any idea whats wrong? Do You know how to perform a factory reset on the unit? Will that help?

That happened to me 2 or 3 times. Open the machine and clean it. worked for me.

Thanks man - You mean - to clean the pads? Is that hard to do or should I just lurk inside for the pad mechanism and use comon sense? Also - will that void my warranty?

take the case off,pull the pads off,wipe down the sensors and put it back together...

taking one screw out of any machine voids the warranty,,but if its under warranty and ur affraid to get inside of it then i suggest you return it.

sonseelye is rigth although i find hard to belive they have a way of knowing that you openned the machine.
You can wash the rubber pads if they are dirty with water and soap let it dry really well then put them back in, but of corse you sould not use any type of cleaning liquid on the machine itself.. To clean the sensors just use some soft fabric.

I opened it and checked all the sensors and stuff - I believe its some hardware malfunction - hope its just the sensors... I wiped it with brush and cleaned the rubber pads with alcohol - no result. Same shit happens. I think I will try to buy the new sensors, cause to be honest I have messed up few screw while opening the machine and I cant really put it back cause the data wheel is scratching the faceplate now - I put everything together as it was and I cant figure out how to make the wheel not to scratch the faceplate... Everytime I fasten the screws in front (those hidden ones next to SD card slot) and the ones at the back, the wheel sctaches the faceplate. The only way to avoid it is to loosen the screws in front - and thats what I did.

So I guess I took a risk and lost this battle - my warranty is pretty much dead now So - is the new sensors idea sensible? ARe there any stores in Europe that carry those part or do I have to go for the VST store in US?

Or should I go for an authorized service? Does anyone have any idea how much would such a repair cost outside the warranty? Presuming that we are talking only about sensors exchange?

easy now... You connected it wrong, happened to me once. Open it again, look at the bottom of the data wheel, it has to be placed perfectly or it will scratch on the face plate.

Ok -thanks for the tip - I thought it does not matter how I put the wheel back - I guess I was wrong
