Loading Samples into a to Hard Drive instead of Internal RAM

Hello everyone. I have looked all over the internet for an information on this subject, so if this forum exist already I apologize for the redundancy.

I just got an MPC 2500 and it came with the 128mb RAM, and 1Gb CF card and I just installed a 160Gb Hard Drive into it. The reason I did this was because I was hoping to do several things with the MPC. 1, use it as it was intended; that is to load samples onto the pads and create beats that way, and 2, to load my bands backing tracks (usually 4minute stereo WAV file). The later use would allow me to map a beat to a sequence that had tempo data, which it would send to my looper via a midi channel.

Moving on, part 1 is working, or course BUT (of course) I run into issues with part 2. My question is...I realize that when loading a sequence or sample from the HD that it goes to the RAM for playback, but I was wondering if it was possible to load all of the info off of (and onto?) the HD. I guess this would mean even running the OS from the HD? If this isn't possible, is anyone up for the challenge of figuring this out?!?!?!?!

I know the machine isn't built for this purpose, but after much research (and not wanting to rely on a computer, for the time being), I thought this would be the way to go, but I did not anticipate these problems.

Can't work around the RAM. Maybe it's possible with a lot of modifications, but I'm not a tech guy so wouldn't know.

The machine is designed to work off RAM. HD is designated for storage. Cant imagine a work around without considerable modifications but the end of the day would it really be worth it?

Something like virtual memory off the hard drive would be cool but that's not really possible with the mpc2500.
