new MPC but not all the pads are working!

i brought a MPC 2500 about 2 months ago but havent been able to use it until now. yesterday i plugged it in for the first time and only pads 1-4 are working correctly and occasionally pad 14 but it sometimes picks it up as pad 13 when i hit pad 14... i am guessing that it is a faulty unit but was wondering if there could be something else wrong that could cause this problem... please help if you know how i can fix it!

Try doing a re-install or update of the OS.
If that doesn't work you could try opening the mpc to make sure the pads are set correctly.

Same thing happened to me once when on an old Akai OS version, but it went away after a new OS install. Fingers crossed it's as easy for you.

Wouldn't that void the warranty?

and if the pads look cool who cares if they work!!!
