problems with ram in mpc 2500

I have problems with the expansion 128mb ram, i install it an then when i turn on the mpc 2500 in the screen appear the message: 0 MB installed and the mpc dont work, but if i turn off, extract the ram and turn on again it works, but with the internal 16 mb, can somebody help me?

...that's a compact flash card... not ram...
