MPC2500 takes FOREVER to boot??

I recently got an MPC 2500 off craigslist...
every time i turn it on it boots to the[ MPC2500 128MB whatver] screen..

it stalls for like 2-sometimes 5 minutes!!!
then it boots up..

What is causing this? I got this MP with JJ O.S 5.43 installed but the MPC kept crashing randomly and rebooting then freezing.
So i reinstalled the AKAI OS and now it works but still takes way too long to start up...
Is this software or hardware related? Let me know!

Try removing the RAM and see how it boots up.

I actually had a problem prior to this with the ram...it doesnt lay flat in the machine, when i opened it I discovered some foam wedged between the ram and the outer casing, keeping the ram in place. sometimes the MPC cuts off and cuts back on...without restarting the OS and working properly...


it still boots slow without ram..

akai os takes forever to boot, you need jjos, even the free one (the one i use)

sounds like something is seriously wrong. even with the akai os boot time is under ten seconds.

wat would cause it to take so long? btw i upgraded to the latest JJ and still takes forever; tho considerably faster chopping;
