Do it again from scratch. It's frustrating, i know... Happend to me aswell, but if you really liked the beat, you can do it again! 8)

I've read it's a Hard Drive problem. If I'm not mistaken, it happens right after you go to name the folder you're about to save the beat in.

Quick fix: BEFORE you start working on a beat, hook the MPC to a PC (through USB) and open a NEW FOLDER in the ROOT. Make sure when you go to save your new beat, that you save it in the NEW FOLDER that you created earlier. once you select that folder, everything will save as normal.

Solve problem: Hook MPC up to PC (through USB) and copy ALL of the files from the MPC to your computer. Disconnect and format the HD in the MPC. THIS WILL ERASE YOUR HD, so make sure you copy the files BEFORE you format.
Once you've formatted the HD in the MPC, go to the akai site and download the latest OS. Install the OS then go back and copy the files from the computer back to the MPC.

you should format the hard drive in the MPC every couple years.
