power conversion in australia

hi i just bought an mpc 2000xl on e-bay from the states... i live in australia... do i need a special power converter for difference in voltage...?

Yes you will.

The states run on 110v and Oz is 240v so you will need to get a step down transformer. You need to make sure you buy one which will deliver enough watts to power the 2000xl.

2000XL's are dual voltage so no need for a transformer.
I bought mine in California and have been using it Korea, Qatar and most of Europe with no transformer. I just had to replace the power cord end plug for the different wall outlets.
