i just bought a used mpc 2500 on ebay and it just has the stock 16 MB of RAM. From what I understand, this should give me 2 minutes and 16 seconds of mono sampling time but it only shows 1 minute and 52 seconds. I'm a little confused by this because, as far as i can tell, nothing is loaded at all (i just turned it on, all memory should be cleared; autoload is turned off). I really want this extra time if i can get it so i'm just trying to make sure nothing's wrong. Is this just the OS taking up some space. Please help!

delete all programs and sequences, then on the program mode screen 'purge' all the unused samples. this should free your RAM. your manual will tell you how to delete programs and sequences.
