MPC2500 with Q slider issues

I just traded a 3000 for a 2500 and I just found out the Q sliders are not working. Thankfully the guy with my 3000 was cooperative but I said I would give it a few days of research to see if I could fix it. The problem is that the Q sliders are not assigning themselves correctly and sometimes not at all. The effects only respond to random pads and when I turn the Q3 knob, it flickers the Q2 and Q3 tabs on the screen. Is this probably a wire stuck in the wrong place when the first owner upgraded the ram or something? Is this an inexpensive problem to fix or am I better off getting my 3000 back?

It also takes a good minute or two to chop up samples. Not nearly as fast as the youtube tutorials but im not sure if its the machine or the files im using (1 bar breaks from my computer from a DVD)

So you didn't find it suspicious that someone wanted to trade a 2500 for a 3k?
Think about it 2500's are easy to sell and 3k's are easy to find.
Most people who have used the newer MP's miss features when going back to a 60, 3k or 2k, that's why many just add the older MP to go along with the newer unit.
Give that problem back to it's original owner get your 3k back.

I was actually the one that wanted to trade because value wise it seemed like a good upgrade. The 3000 as much as it sounds good just wasnt cutting it in terms of work flow. The trader is keepin in touch thank god, and supposedly the Q sliders are the first to go bad on MPC's. Im not wanting to trade back, try to sell it for 100 dollars more than the 2nd hand 2500 price; 40 dollars for a q link PCB isnt that bad of an investment for me considering I dont have to ship this and pack that. I changed the OS the JJ OS and the samples chop very fast now. I think the only issue with this is the PCB board so im just gonna call it a trade thats a little less fair on my side.

The Q-links don't readily fail.
You are over thinking this by believing you got a good deal when you didn't.

Deoxit? That like compressed air or something? I know that I should probably switch this thing over but if its only the Q Link PCB I gotta switch out to make it near perfect than ill keep it. Ive been fiddling with this for hours and the only thing I can find wrong is assigning the FX to the sliders. Some pads dont slide then somehow they do, all the Q's work for tempo changes. If anyone can tell me that this could potentially be an issue with the whole board than please let me know.

can you tell us which os you are running? mode -> pad 10

there was an issue with q-link sliders and knobs crosstalk which should be fixed in os versions 1.22 and above.

Nah its like a cleaner and lube for tact switches, knobs, encoders and sliders. google is the big homie...
