New - Fresh - Green (I don't know any one else running midi gear!!)

MPC 2500
Spectralis 2
Tetra
Novation Remote 25SL

opinions please.....

MPC as master OR Spectralis as Master

trying to sort out the midi connectivity!!!!! HELP

all good i believe.
I have set the MPC as master, as it seems to be a clear and simple set up...

Novation out 1 - MPC in 1
MPC out A - Spectralis In (midi channel 1)
MPC out B - Tetra In (midi channel 2)

I can flick between the to desk top synth in the MPC and the MPC controls the Tempo to all units.
A1 - Spectralis
B2 - Tetra.

I hit the manuals and did it myself...

Fyi, JJOSXL also let's you send MTC and/or MIDI CLOCK to any midi out port at the same time:


Handy for sending MTC to your DAW and MIDI CLOCK to your drum machines/cv/midi converter...

I'm interested is why u might want to control the MPC from protools?
or are you wanting to use the mpc like a controller??
are u wanting to start stop rec on the MPC from protools thru the mouse?

THANKS 4 RESPONDING. ALL I REALLY WANT 2 DO IS RECORD MY TRACKS SEPERATELY BUT I CAN ONLY DO ONE TRACK AT A TIME SO I NEED IT IN SYNC......USING THIS MIDISPORT 1X1 UNO. MY MBOX MINI 2 DOESN'T HAVE A MIDI CONNECTION IN THE BACK.

yep I hear what your saying. I have played the MBOX rout...(original)
you can go from your mixer main outs into the MBOX, that way you can connect all your gear and multi track or single track into the MBOX.
I'm personally liking the idea of just running the machines as they are, which means I would layer to my hearts content with the MPC / Spectralis / Tetra and tweek live - record only as a multi track....this makes me happy!!!!!
I find the PC to much muck'n around...learning the software is that bit extra I just don't want to have time for...I'm not sure if I helped...
