MPC 2500 & SP404sx sync

Im trying to sync up long (40 bars and up) samples from an sp404sx to the mpc clock. I've got the midi connections working. Somehow, despite the loops (from the sp404) being cut perfectly (done in PT) im still getting timing issues between it and the mpc when the pattern is launched via the play start button on the mpc. anyone have any experience with doing this with the 404s?

the samples do not play in sync with the mpc's clock. They seem to drift back and forth irregularly too, its not just being played late or early. Its definitely an issue within the 404. Ive been searching their forums but no luck so far. I was hoping someone here has encountered the same issues.
