left record in gone bad. how we fixxin this?

left record in doesnt record as loud as the right. how do i fix this? i can still record mono from the right or transfer samples via usb, but this isnt convenient.

i dont know if that helps, but i will tell it also, maybe its useful. when record volume is turned down, left is(lets say) 6 db less loud than the right. but when i turn up the record volume, while right channel gets louder, left stays still.

im assuming uve already tried this but use different cables and also try and use a different sampling source just to make sure that it is indeed the record input jack that is failing

yes of course. i had noticed this a while ago, when i had my usb audio interface in "thru", so i assumed there was a problem with my interface. but i tried to record from different sources and from different cables as well and there was the same problem, so i assume the left record in is faulty

help anyone? where do i fix a broken record in?
