Hi and thank you for taking the time to read my post, this is in regards to syncing.

First of all I am running Pro Tools 9 with the Apogee Duet, Akai MPC 2500, Edirol PCR MIDI keyboard.

I would like to sync the MPC 2500 as the slave to Pro Tools but I can not get the two to talk.

My Connections:
Edirol USB to COMPUTER
Edirol PCR MIDI OUT>MPC MIDI IN 1
Edirol PCR MIDI IN>MPC MIDI OUT A

Here are some pictures of the setup and what I have, any help would greatly be appreciated - I have gone to the AKAI site and followed the directions there but can't seem to get these to talk.

...so that's my issue if you can help me out to get them synced up that would be great.

FYI I also had a MPC 1000 and had it synced fine before I got the 2500.

you are probably producing a loop!
the mpc is set to be the slave and the master at the same time at the in and the out port of the edirol.
turn one side off.

if that is not the issue than it might be the internal midi in/out routing of the edirol, because it has usb midi and real midi.
switch the cables on the edirol around and see if it works that way.

do you have any midi in/or out of protools to the mpc or vice versa besides the sync problem?

and last question what os is running on your mpc? mtc was added in os 1.2 but there were bugs that are corrected in os 1.24.

peace, jo
