Hey guys so I have a question regarding pitch shifting...I found this tutorial on youtube

I have been trying to use the technique and I have a 4 bar sample that I am trying to pitch shift but when I complete the steps below and hit do it and Play back the sample it sounds distorted.
My Steps:
Program > Window (while on highlited "Sample") > Lets say I tune it down to -02.00(ST) > Edit > Sample Edit Pitch Shift say +02.00 > Do It > and hit play it sounds distorted.
Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thank you!
