You want a detailed answer, post a detailed question. As it stands you are leaving out what cables/connections/settings you have used thus far.

Aiight, the rec/play transport controls on the mpc has nothing to do with sampling in from the motif. Please check your manual. This is pretty basic and you should have ran across that in the manual by now anyway.

I was going to move to "getting started section" but you got to it while I was typing a post.

Midi cables are data only, no audio.

What do you mean by "record" I think you may be confusing that word and I'm not quite following.

How are you "recording mpc into the motif", what exactly did you do to make that happen? Does that mean you are playing the mpc sounds from the motif keys? that's not recording if that's what you mean.

@LAMPDOG I have the midi setup right. Im trying to record a sound from the mo6 into the mpc2500. When I press rec/play start i hear to metronome and i play out the sample im trying to capture there is no play back of what i was trying to record, but when i rec/play start from the mpc ( playing the pads not keys ) it records the sound i record. Does any one have tango or facetime so that I an show you whats going on!?!?!?

Record a sample into mpc from motif.

motif audio out -> mpc record/line in.
It should be two 1/4 male mono cables.

Again, start/stop on mpc has nothing to do with recording a sample into the mpc.
