MPC 2500 Pad Sensor Repair/Check

Hi, I just created a new account to ask this question so bear with me. Also, I've searched extensively about this and haven't come to the conclusion I had been looking for.

So I very recently just bought a secondhand MPC 2500, and it was working fine up until 3 days later when the pads had spontaneously just died. All of them. I can't even go to and "MODE" screens. I opened up the casing and looked at the sensors and they looked almost brand new.

With that said, I have a few questions. First, should I go straight to replacing it, or should I try and re-seat the ribbon and check if that works? Secondly, my MPC has Interlink sensors and the black part attached to the PCB board doesn't seem to lock or anything, and I'm not sure how I'm going to even get the ribbon out of that. And finally, what precautions should I be taking when handling the innards of the MPC? I've been using MPCs for a while now, but haven't had much, if any, experience with repair and/or diagnosis.

EDIT: I'm also getting lines across the screen at startup, but they go away after the "MPC 2500 128mb Installed" message pops up. Is that normal?

Pad senors do not die all together at once, there fore they are not the fault

If your interlink connection is faulty/broken that will be where the problem lies.

If the sensors are infact new (non stock) It's gonna have been a novice who fitted them and possibly how you have a broken locking device.

No lock means no or an intermittent connection.

Sort that and you should be ok.

Lines on LCD during power up are normal

First off, I think the pad sensors were stock, and I had emailed MPC stuff and they said that the Interlink kind didn't have a locking mechanism on the PCB board, it just kind of pushes into the thing..

Anyway, I tried reseating it and nothing happened.

Would there be a way of knowing if it was the pad PCB board was the thing that's faulty?

Only if you check that each component is working correctly.

If the black lock on the sensors is not holding the sensors in place properly it will not work.

If adjusting that made no difference check the other ribbon plugs to control board and the solder points.

If you find nothing pull the multi meter out and Check you pcb out
